Artwork Title: A Walk To Somewhereland

This mural is a vibrant celebration of the natural beauty of Northeast Victoria. Inspired by the rolling contours of the Strathbogie Ranges, Leunig’s work fuses whimsical characters with bold, instinctive colour choices, reflecting his deep connection to the landscape.

This work is an instinctive response to the local landscape Leunig has loved all his life. It draws on his enduring fascination with birds, nature, vivid colours, and a naïve interpretation of imagined creatures that emerge from abstract forms—capturing both the playfulness and emotional depth of his relationship with the land.
